Assertgin is a robust, powerful, and fast migration engine for ECM systems and databases. It can migrate documents, data, and business objects, such as workflows. Assertgin has its own rules and transformation engine, and its own auditing and tracing mechanism. It comes with a modern UI that includes a control panel and a real-time dashboard.
Features
UI/UX
UI/UX
- A real-time, modern migration dashboard: A unique feature in the realm of migration engines! Assertgin has a live, real-time dashboard for tracking on-going migration processes as well as providing live statistics on the entire migration. The dashboard also has a drill-down functionality that shows the user underlying data down to the lowest level of detail.
- Migration control panel: Using the control panel, a privileged user can start and stop a migration process, monitor current migration processes and utilization of server resources.
Content, Data and Workflows
Content, Data and Workflows
- Support of various source systems: Assertgin is capable of migrating from any system(s) into Alfresco, it has been proven for migrating from Documentum, Oracle UCM, Sharepoint, Filenet, Document hierarchies on desk or in object storage (e.g. S3).
- Mapping and Migration of folder hierarchy, metadata properties and security matrix: Assertgin is capable of mapping source hierarchies to an Alfresco folder hierarchy, and mapping source metadata properties to an Alfresco Content Model, and mapping source security matrix (permissions, roles, etc) to Alfresoc’s security model.
- Migration of Alfresco Process Services / Activiti Processes: Assertgin is capable of migrating processes between different APS / Activiti installations, as well as migrating processes from an older model version to the current one on the same APS / Activiti installation. Assertgin is also capable of migrating processes from other BPM / workflow engines to APS / Activiti.
Mapping and Transformation
Mapping and Transformation
- Support of various source and target systems: Assertgin is capable of migrating data between any number of systems or databases to the target system or database.
- Mappings: Assertgin’s Mapping component is a configurable and flexible business tier that is capable of mapping data fields and attributes between the source system(s) and the target.
- Custom operations/logic: Assertgin’s extension points allow for custom business and logical operations to be performed during the migration process.
Auditing and Reporting
Auditing and Reporting
- Auditing and tracing: Assertgin creates and auditing record of every operation in the migration process. Using these records, Assertgin is capable of tracing and counting for each individual data item from source to target.
- Reporting: Assertgin includes a flexible and dynamic Report Generator component. This component is capable of providing client-defined reports that are specific to their migration.
Why Is It Innovative
- High migration speed.
- Capability of performing different types of migrations: Big-bang, continuous, differential.
- Capability of migrating from different sources, simultaneously.
- Capability of mapping migrated content to Alfresco custom types and properties.
- Real-time Dashboard.
- Statistics, Reports, and Analytics.
- Reconciliation and on-demand remigrations.
- Capability of handling complex transformations and including business logic in the migration process.
Technology Stack
Assertgin is a web-based software built using Microservices and Java. The front-end was built using React. It supports major databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL). Assertgin can be installed on Linux and Windows. It is available as Docker and regular distribution installations.
Pricing
Assertgin has a one-time license. The license cost depends on the client's size (large, medium, small). If customizations are requested by the client, they will be charged on a T&M basis.
